Circle of Friends
Betty Ann Foley, my daughter
...without whom this project may never have started. Betty borrowed $1000.00 on her visa, gave it to me on my first trip to C.A.trip to use as productively as possible for the children of the country. With this, I bought books and in delivering them, interested Kamal Jahenbien in building a school in Rio Dulce, Guatemala.
Kamal Jahanbein
...a man who travels the world looking for places that need schools and helps to build them. His interest is in providing schools for those that would normally not have any. Without Kamal's help, the school at Caserio San Francisco may never have happened.
Tracey Ellis, my daughter
...who came on board, amid all her other responsibilities to help me raise the money for the school building. Tracey also came to the school opening, as well as introduced the first chickens to the village. She gave all the money she received for her birthday to buy 100 baby chicks for the village.
Don Gato, a friend in Guatemala
...without whose help and beautiful photography and updates in the Rio-dulce Vindicator (an online paper) in Guatemala, the school and the students would have remained unknown. Don visited the village, stayed abreast of the development, and did all of the things I could not do without being there.
Mauricio Pacheco, a professor from El Salvador
...who came on a regular basis to oversee the building of the school in Caserio San Francisco. His devotion to the village and expertise helped to make the school the success that it is.
