One of the things that June noticed in Guatamala was that poverty did not make these people bitter, envious or feeling deprived from lack of money. Every time June walked to the town of Rio Dulce, she saw this man with his entire stock of supplies: tools, threads and table, doing his job of mending shoes. Rain or shine, he was there in the shelter of the bridge, doing what little he could to make a living.
Everytime June passed by, she got a friendly smile and "Hello", almost as though he was glad to see her. June took this picture to help her never forget that we need to care about our neighbors in this global world.
