Book Delivery to Remote Village
On June's first trip to Guatamala, she became aware of a woman trying to teach 35 children on the front porch of someone's house. These children had no books, pencils or any reading material at all. The teacher had the only book, and the students received a paper for every class, on which they did their assignment.
This barrio (village) was on the Guatamala / Belize border, distant from any large town. In a trip that took eight hours on a dusty bus, June brought all the books and supplies that you see to the children.
June was fortunate enough to buy these at wholesale from a distributor in Guatamala city. The funds came from her daughter in Mission.
