How you can volunteer:

  1. Teach English
  2. Set up micro-banking
  3. Provide dental / medical services on location

1) Teach English:

The education taking place in the village is for children only and it is in Spanish only. An important addition to their present curriculum would be the English language. Even the teachers don't know English. Volunteers able to teach basic English both to the teachers and grade 5 and 6 class would be an important aspect to the education there.

There is safe and affordable lodging, and transportation to the village. All the necessary prerequisites are available. Guatemala is a beautiful country, with many historic ruins, beaches, parks and waterfalls, everything to make ones stay there an enjoyable experience and as well as rewarding one.

2) Micro-banking:

Anyone familiar with Micro banking and the knowledge to set it up would greatly enhance the opportunity for the women in the village to help provide an income for their family. There is opportunity for them to sew uniforms for schools, produce crafts for sale, plus other projects suited to their culture.

3) Medical / Dental / Optometry:

Medical, dental, optometry clinics are an absolute necessity in this village and other villages we are involved with. Their is no health care of any kind for the poor, and the only help they get is from teams that come in from the U.S.A. or Canada.
